Ive newly gotten myself a gaming pc with a gtx 1070 and an i5, but the storage space is only <<Profanity removed by moderator.>> 206gb. I think it has an SSD since it starts really quick but if i switch out the hard drive for one with more memory will that make the PC slower? Excuse me if somethings wrong since i dont know that much about computers

Solution
Most users have a SSD and a HDD. The SSD is used to store the OS and key applications for maximum speed and the HDD is used for other applications that don't need the speed of the SSD and for document, picture, video, etc. storage.

Even if you install games to the HDD, you will still have better overall performance because of the SSD containing the OS/system files.

Using a SSD + HDD will not slow down the system.

sooo since it seems like my pc has an ssd does that mean i can pop in an hdd and get more storage and still be able to boot up the pc in like 5 seconds?

Yes, it will still boot very fast. All of my desktop systems (4) have SSD + HDD configs. Boot speed is excellent across all of them.

ok so they are 2 different things and dont affect each other thanks :)

Ok thx i understand now i looked in my pc and i only have an ssd so ill look for some hdds
