[SOLVED] Will a new motherboard fit old parts

I have a Dell T7600 with a 082WXT Motherboard. I plan to get a new board, and a new cpu.

1. Will I need to get all new parts for a new motherboard?
2. Recommendations for motherboards/CPUs?

It depends on what these old parts are. If it's just SATA or PCIe based parts, then sure, you can usually carry those over. If it's something like a PCI card, then that becomes an issue as newer boards tend to lack a PCI slot.

Those prebuilts usually have a proprietary power supply as well. In that case, a new PSU too.
Just a new mobo and CPU? Do you expect DDR3 to work in todays mobos? A platform upgrade is Mobo/CPU/RAM.
My recommendation? Maybe you can keep a harddrive. Maybe. Rest is probably trash. Including the case.

Most new motherboards are backward compatible. That is, as long as the interface is the same, the old one can be supported. But it also depends on the specific model. Your CPU is not high now, so most motherboards should be able to use it <Mod Edit spam removed>

Backward compatible ? A server mainboard with DDR3 RAM? That is 10 years old? Come on. The mainboard is not even ATX compatible.

Ive got a Xeon E5 2687w 3.1 GHz processor
32 GB of DDR3 Ram
Memory 500 Gb and 1.7 Tb of Raid 0
I prefer to hold on to the memory, processor, and power supply, (possibly the mobo but that might not be do-able with the case)

Honestly, your current CPU is going to probably be better than anything your ram is compatible with, and anything you could potentially buy would have to be on the used market. Being a dell rig, I doubt case, or PSU are reusable. What is your budget?

But if possible i wanna cap it off at 600 because i still need a car.
