Hello!
My onboard soundcard is not working properly, atleast for the microphone. 90% of the time i only hear a loud buzz from the mic and can't be heared at all.
I think it's some kind of interference, but will the new soundcard help? Or will the interference just pass over to the new card? Im thinking about buying this one: https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-XONAR-Headphone-Audio-Card/dp/B003ZXDOL6

I am also certain my outlets are grounded, and have also tested multible outlets in my home. Also, if i hold my hand on the back of my case, the buzzing decreases.
My mobo: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/A55M-E35.html#hero-overview

So please, any help would be appreciated.

Just a simple check before you buy sound card. Does that headset have integrated microphone and does it have separate leads and jacks for microphone and earphones ? Some have one jack with 4 contacts which require appropriate plug in the sound source.

It might be your headset or maybe the heat of the pc fried the on board soundcard (because the hand on the back of the case thing) so I would check the headset with other pc's first before getting a new soundcard.

Yeah the problem is definitely on the soundcard's end, but I experience no problem with sound playing out of my speakers or headset though.

I have tested my headset on my laptop, and it works fine on it. I don't see what heat would have anything to do with touching back of my case though, either way thanks for your reply.
