Will a newer motherboard work with a first gen i7?

Hi, I have found a motherboard I would like to purchase for my pc but as I am using some parts that I got for free (family) I have an older i7 920 processor. I have tried to look around to see if it will compatible with http://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-motherboard-z97gaming5 and I have researched to see how to tell if it would be compatible but I can not figure out how to tell. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The motherboard wont fit because its for newer generation processors
You have to look for a LGA 1366 Motherboard

No, it will not be compatible with a Z97 motherboard. Only LGA 1150 socket processors will fit Z97 motherboards. You need an LGA 1366 motherboard and there are currently no new models listed as being in stock ANYWHERE according to PC Partpicker. There are a few on Amazon, but they are extremely expensive. You're best bet is likely to try and find something on ebay or upgrade to something newer. There is simply no availability for these motherboards new anymore.
