Hello I'm just wondering will the nvidia gtx 1070 be able to run the Acer Predator XB271HU
At high to very high settings on most games
The monitor is 2560 by 1440 p at 165hz and it's an IPS panel.
Thanks

would the Asus - ROG SWIFT PG278QR be better suited

Solution
While the 1070 is a solid 1440p card.... If you're aiming to achieve 165FPS to match the 165HZ on high/very high in most titles...... I'd have to lean towards probably not. A 1070 should be able to achieve 60FPS on most titles at 1440p at Ultra...... so probably in the 70+ range at high/very high.

Going to fall a bit short of matching the refresh rate........ I suspect you'll need a 1080 (probably a 1080TI) to do what you want.

Yes, it will work normally and its performance will differ obviously depending on which games you are playing.
As for the 165hz, I dont believe the 1070 is a powerful enough card to actually utilize that refresh rate in most modern AAA games in high/ultra settings, so if you haven't bought the monitor yet, Id reccommend you to get a cheaper 1440p one with around 120hz

But good card choice. Ideal for 1440p :)

It'd be the same thing. The 1070 is great for 1440p but it can't do 144+ fps at ultra settings on new AAA games. To utilize all the fps you'd need a 1080 or 1080ti

If money is no object, I believe so. In other words, they are both brilliant monitors, but if you are willing to pay an extra premium, Asus usually have the best quality monitors. Refer to this video for a full review and comparison :
