Hello I will like to know if my Motherboard that has a PCIE 1.1 will be ok for a PCIE 2.0 gpu (nvidia gtx 550ti).

In paper PCI-e 2.0 is backwards compatible.

There is a report here and there of problems but are mostly to faulty or out of specifications components (due use over time).

It should.
I have read the docs at intel site and even BIOS has not adresses issues with PCI-E 1.1.

A PCI-e 2.0 card will adjust itself to PCI-e 1.1. Technicaly it will never percive the needed electronics to active the 2.0 advantages.

yes pcie slots are all compatable, the problem comes with SOME older BIOS's that dont know how to initialise the display with newer 2.1 cards.
