Will a PNY GT 730 1GB work in an Optiplex 380? I'm worried about the power supply

I have a Dell Optiplex 380 which has a 250-watt PSU, and I want to install a PNY GT 730 1GB into it for dual monitor support (spare video card laying around). I will not be gaming on this computer, as it is used for work. The 730 has a recommended minimum power supply of 300-watts. Should I upgrade the psu, or will I be okay with the stock power supply? I'm somewhat afraid of the PC going up in smoke and losing all my data or causing a fire. Also, the card is designed for an x8 slot. Will this work okay in the x16 slot, and will I need to reconfigure the BIOS? Thanks!

Your Pentium has a max power draw of 65W (and since this is solely for work, we can assume about 40W, but to be safe, 65W).

Which one is this? 64-bit(23W)? 128-bit(49W)? DDR5(25W)?

If we assume you have the 128-bit, you should still be good. Your CPU doesn't draw much power, and it still leaves you a little headroom, but we can only assume the PSU is a generic one. It sounds fine to me, even with the total tdp of the CPU and GPU being 114W.
I believe it's the 2.93 Ghz version of the 380, but I'll have to check tomorrow as the computer is at the office. If it makes any difference, the video card does not require a separate cable to the power supply. It just plugs straight in to the PCI-e slot. I'll check tomorrow when I get to the office for the exact model. I believe it's an optiplex 380 DT.
