will a radeon gigabyte 280x graphics card support DX12

I read an article that with dx12 I could use multiple cards from different vendors and years and mix radeon with NVidia so my question is as follows

will my gigabyte 280x ever be able totake advantage of dx12? the card says on it's websitew it is dx11.2 does it ever happen that a card is dx11.2 and later once dx12 is released can be dx12? has this ever been the case before where at launch a card was say dx9 and then later as dx10 came out was dx 10 compatible and ect?

or will I need to buy 2 dx12 cards

AMD has confirmed that all GCN cards will support DX12. That includes the 280X.
