I’ve found a old computer in my attic and it still works. I wanna try to upgrade it for fun (it now has a Radeon HD 5450 512mb) with a Radeon RX 470 4gb but I can’t figure out if it’ll work or not!

PC: Packard Bell imedia S3800
MOBO: Packard Bell FIH57
GPU: Radeon HD 5450 (uses 1 PCI-e 2.0 x16)
RAM: 8GB DDR3
CPU: I7-870

Solution
The PSU is not a problem, i was thinking about buying another one :). But I was thinking about a MSI one or maybe the Sapphire NITRO+, but again I dont know which one is the best fit for a micro-ATX case...
just, take a tape measure, and see if it fits.
on the card website it should say how long it is, just check if there is enough physical clearance for it.
also, if the card doesnt have a lot of breathing room, get a blower style fan, if theres atleast 3cm of clearance for it, go for a open cooler.
is it a reference 470, or is a board partner one? (asus, sapphire, etc.)

it will work on your motherboard, but in the case, just see if it can physcially fit, and your powersupply has enough wattage (if you do now know if its enough, just tell me what it is. it should be written on the psu)

Yeah the GPU is 24cm long and the case 27-28 so it’ll be a tight fit. Thats what I wasn’t certain about, so I guess we’ll see soon. Thanks for the tip on the different cooling types on a GPU, I had no idea different coolingsystems were a thing on a GPU :).
