Question Will a RAM clocked at 3000Mhz run with a CPU that supports only upto 2400Mhz?

I’m building a budget PC.
These are the three things I’m getting:
  • Intel i3-8100 8th Generation processor / coffelake
  • Gigabyte H310M-H motherboard
  • Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 3000Mhz RAM
The RAM is clocked at 3000Mhz, but I should have gone with a 2400Mhz one as Intel i3 doesn’t support more than that.

Will the RAM run just fine in my computer or should I cancel the order and get the 2400Mhz one?

The RAM will only run at 2400MHz when you plug it in. However, this does have benefits, such as probably being able to be run at lower voltages, hence lowering power consumption, lowering temperatures, and increasing lifetime. However, the disadvantage is paying more for no speed benefit.
