Question Will a Ryzen 5 2600 on A320M nix PB2 & XFR2?

Only found one post online where he contradicts himself. Hope these 2 features function on A320 board. Thinking of pairing w/a MSI A320M Pro-VD Plus.

Also, do I need a bios update to get ram to run at 3200 on this mobo?

Precision Boost is like XFR, AMD’s Extended Frequency Range boosting table for boosting a limited number of cores when possible. XFR was introduced with the first Ryzen series CPUs.

Ryzen 3000 and 2000 use Precision Boost 2.

1. Please make sure you are using Ryzen 2000 or 3000 series CPU or APU.

2. Update to the latest BIOS which supports Pinnacle, Raven Ridge, Picasso, Matisse or Bristol Ridge.

MSI A320M Pro-VD Plus offers memory support for 1866/2133/2400/2667/2933(OC)/3200(OC) MHz.

Some processors are capable of using 3200MHz memory while other aren't. Ryzen 5 2600 offically supports 2933MHz with two DIMMs.

Just a little adder to emphasize Calvin's post: being native to the processor (depending on generation) PB2 and XFR2 are fully supported even on A320. You don't (or shouldn't) have ability to actually change, or over-ride, the default boost parameters since PBO, Performance Boost Overide, is an overclocking strategy for Ryzen processors.

I am curious just what memory overclocking features you might have. Beyond simply setting XMP or manually setting a memory clock speed, can you manually enter timing values to achieve stability? Do the timing values include the sub-timing values (20+ in all)?

Apologies drea, I'm not getting email alerts. This was hypothetical. I got B450M instead. So don't know how well manual timing functions on A320.
