Hi guys, I was wondering if an AMD R9 280 would work in my computer.

My specs are:

-AMD A8 7650k
-MSI a78m-e35 Motherboard
-EVGA 500w SU 80+ Bronze
-8gb RAM

I don't intend to do any overclocking.

Thanks a lot :)

Let me give you more accurate information. Each OEM has different recommended minimum requirements for their cards. As for as the R9 280 GPU.. here is a quick breakdown for you:

Powercolor & XFX DoubleD : 750W PSU Minimum

Gigabyte (GV-R928WF3OC): 500W PSU Minimum

Sapphire DualX (R9 280 100373: 600W PSU Minimum

So unless you buy a new PSU .. only the Gigabyte model should be used with a 500W unit. If your PSU is more than a couple of years old then you should go ahead and get a new PSU.
The R9 280 requires 750W Minimum PSU, although it does not need that much power, that is what AMD requires. If you want the R9 280, and want to make sure you meet minimum specs, you will need a larger PSU.

Otherwise, you should have no issues.
