Will a Sata 1.0 SSD make a difference?

I want to get a sata 1.0 SSD for my old pc that runs windows 7, but I don't know if it will really make a difference in speed from IDE to Sata 1.0. Will it speed up that old pc?

It will still be MUCH faster than any mechanical disk. If you are still using XP, it doesn't support the TRIM command so you will have to do garbage collection manually.

1st generation consumer-grade SSDs were released in 2008.

Do not buy a 1st generation SSD just because you have a pc with a old motherbard/chipset.

Newer SSDs have more stable firmware and have better TRIM and Garbage Collection algorithms.

Also, I doubt that you will find any 1st generation SSDs that are "new".
