Will a sound card help?

I have a z97x sli motherboard and i have a spare sound card, it is one of those cheap ones that are about 30 dlls. i was wondwring if it will help in any way to use the sound card.

30 DLLs? Or dollars? What model sound card? What motherboard do you have?

You have left out a lot of details which make it impossible to give you a good answer, but I would just stick with whatever is in your system. Most Z97 boards come with good components so I wouldn't bother unless you need extra ports for analog surround sound.

Sorry its 30 dollars, and i have a z97x-sli motherboard, its a cheap one asus xonar i dont have the specific model.

sure it will... you'll get cleaner sound and hear precisely who, when and what will use against you (up to the point 12yo battlefield hardened warrior will accuse you of cheating), you gain a fps or two, and games/movies/music will be a more pleasurable experience...
