No, it won't. No fibre optics that I know of (except Google Fiber) can offer enough bandwidth to require more than a 300mbps adapter. Nonetheless, I bought a TP-Link 450mbps, because of the extra antenna and it is compatible with the 5GHz spectrum.

The last point about 5GHz is important. If your router is relatively close to your PC (i.e. mine is about 5 metres away with a ceiling in between), then 5GHz is the best option as it can carry more data, and thus, is faster. The WN8561ND I believe only works on the 2.4GHz spectrum.

But if you're far away from your router, 2.4 GHz has better range.

So, I would get the 450mbps adapter if you need 5GHz (assuming your router can broadcast at 5GHz), or stick with the 300mbps if 2.4GHz is enough
