Will a Windows 8.1 Key Work On Windows 10?

Will a windows 8.1 key work on windows 10? I just purchased a new 850 evo and don't know if I will lose my win10 reservation when I reinstall windows on my rig with my new ssd. I was thinking I could just find a Windows 10 ISO and use my 8.1 key but idk. Please tell me whow I should go about this.

the reservation thing is just marketing to make 10 look more exclusive

you will still get it through windows update like hundreds of million others

unfortunately no, they're two different products so you can't mix and match product keys.

You can easily download Windows 8.1 from Microsoft's website, use your current product key to activate, and upgrade to 10 (no you won't lose your reservation as long as you registered your email when you made it, and you can always make a new one easy)
