i have intel 945GCM3 v2 mobo with PCIx16 1.0 and i want to buy hd6670 ddr3 1gb

so will it work or not please ...... i want good gc under 5000 rs

What is the return policy on the graphics card you are looking to purchase? Might have to bite the bullet to find out for sure. To be honest, I doubt there are very many manufacturers out there who are going to make a statement about compatibility unless they have specifically tested their video card in the motherboard you have, and then they usually make compatibility lists. To further complicate the issue, AMD did not make the graphics card you are wanting to purchase, they made the processor on the graphics card, and so you really are wanting to ask the manufacturer of the card.

Frankly, I'm a bit put-off about all of the folks on here claiming compatibility issues without backing them up with anything.

Essentially, what you are most concerned about is that your slot is PCIe x16, to match the physical connection on the graphics card. The card can be designed to work with the PCIe version 1, 2, or even 3 standard, and if your slot is only designed to run the PCIe version 1 standard, the graphics card will simply, and without you having to tell it to, run at PCIe version 1 signaling.

You will lose some bandwidth between the graphics card and the rest of the computer, but the only alternative to that would be to upgrade the motherboard to something with PCIe version 2 or newer.

On the whole, you probably won't notice much of a speed difference from running the card at PCIe v.1

last year i went to my mobo's site and updated or flashed my mobo to latest
bios how can i check that my slot is 1or2.0 :0

and can i get a ddr5 version 1gb 6670
i have intel E2160 @ 2.2ghz and 2 gb ddr2 ram in dual mode , 450 w psu with 12v=24 amps will buying a ddr5 will be good idea or ddr3 should suffice ...

will ddr5 bottelneck with mu system ????????????

Upgrading your BIOS isn't going to upgrade your PCIe version. That is a limitation of the hardware.

A program called GPU-Z can tell you what your PCIe x16 slot is currently running at, but it may need to have a graphics card installed first. I'm not sure what you'll get with integrated graphics, but you're always welcome to try it and see. You can find the download for GPU-Z here:

Yes, you can get the DDR5 version of the 6670 and it should perform better. Will it bottleneck? Maybe. I actually suspect your CPU and GPU will be fairly evenly matched at that point. There is always a bottleneck in a computer, and it's going to ultimately depend on the application. If your choice was between having less DDR5 vs more DDR3, so long as you have at least 1 GB, the DDR5 always gives better performance.

Can I suggest a good graphics card for under 5500 rs? I can try, but I'm in the U.S.A., and honestly don't know which currency rs is. I will try and do some looking in a few minutes. 🙂

DDR2 for your main processor is not a deciding factor for the RAM that comes on your graphics card. The two may seem related to each other but they are not required to be the same.

if u can increase ur budget a bit more the hd 7750 will be a better option
hd 7750 is the best gpu which does not require a pci connector i think it can be found for 6,500Rs

i think my psu wont be able to handle 7750 its only 450W from webpro its model is
ATX-450W

DC output
+5v=30A , +12v=24A , +3.3v=28A , -5v:=0.5A , -12v:=0.5A , +5VSB:=1.5A

thats all i got will this psu handle 6670 ...???????
im going to buy this
my budget is strictly 5800 rs

if it is strictly 5800 rs then hd 6670 ddr5 would be okay but ur psu will be fine for hd 7750 it has a very low power requirement it has a peak power consumption less than 50 watts

From the article I linked to earlier:

Why would such old cards work, and newer not? I would appreciate if someone would care to explain why they would produce worse silicon now than they did then.

As far as I can come up with, a 6670 1 GB DDR5 seems to be the closest match to 5800 rs, and will work with the OPs power supply.
