I want to build my own gaming pc with the amd fx-6100 and the geforce gtx 680. wil the fx-6100 bottleneck the gtx 680?

some help would be great!

3dMark is good but it's differences do not correlate exactly to gaming experiences. An FX 6300 stock clock, might get you 50fps avg on Far Cry 3, while a 3570k gets 55fps avg, if they were using a gtx 580. This is an example. Because benchmarks do a much much better job at using your full resources especially CPU than actual games.

I've proved this in my own findings, a 2500k O.C. to 4.2 did no better than a 2500k stock in gaming with regards to FPS, with the rare exception of Skyrim which loves CPU's and Civ 5 out of all the games I tried. It made me realize that CPU overclocking in our present, can sometimes be too gimmicky and overestimated...right now GPU's rule the scene.

Btw, sweet card, just got my Tahiti LE 2 weeks ago love it...now GPU overclocking, that right there my friend is where you really get to have your fun
😉

You could downgrade your 680 to a 670 and then upgrade your cpu. The difference between the 670 and 680 isnt much you can overclock a 670 to reach a 680. Some 670 come factory overclocked and they are faster than a 680. Just a suggestion
