I am currently looking to upgrade my pc, and the Asus R9 290X has caught my attention. (This one, to be precise)

I would really like to know if my pc can actually handle the thing or if I need to upgrade other parts as well. So if anyone here can help me with that, thank you.

Parts: ( mostly as shown by speccy 😛)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-770TA-UD3 ATX AM3
Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1050T
PSU: OCZ StealthXStream 600W

Again, if anyone here knows if this will work, I would be very thankful. If more parts are needed, tell me.

Hi - Two things of concern:

1st - you didn't list your cabinet/case. You need to be sure the 290x will fit. So take off side panel
and measure from rear of case along the pcie slot (where the 290x will go) on the mobo to the 1st obstruction
usually the hdd cage and make sure you have at least 277mm of clearance.

2nd - That PSU could be up to nine yrs old, don't know when you bought it, but it was first mfg in 2008.
Depending on how long you've been using it, you may want to consider upgrading or start saving for
an upgrade. It was powerful enough for a system with a 290x, but capacitors degrade with time and use,
so be aware.

Alright, thanks a lot guys. To answer toyftw, 1. It should fit in my cabinet, i measured that beforehand. 2. I've been using this PC for a bit more than a year, so I have no idea how old it would be, nor how it would impact performance. I'm likely just gonna buy it and see if it works. Again, thanks a lot.
