Hi all, firstly sorry if this is posted in the wrong section but i wasn't quite sure where to post it however i'm positive someone here will know.
Ok... i've been trying to get my old PS3 running through my capture card to do some streaming with but as i'm sure all you know Sony made the brilliant choice of implementing HDCP into the PS3 hardware with no way to deactivate it. Ofcourse i've heard of the HDMI splitter trick that supposedly removes that but i've probably tried half a dozen of them now and none work.
I've now just gone with an AV to HDMI adapter which i already know does work... however i also know that upscaling makes the picture look washed out and fuzzy. I happen to read somehere that 720p is actually the PS3's native resolution and often when a PS3 is connected via HDMI it's still just outputting 720p anyway. The adapter i have has a switch to switch from 720p to 1080p... if i leave it on 720p then will i get the exact same picture as if it was connected to my 4K monitor directly via AV?
