I have an old pc that has an i3 2120 in it and im looking to replace my old GPU, Will the i3 2120 bottleneck a 960?

Probably just some casual games Like Fortnite, Overwatch, Csgo and at 1080p.
There is also an i5-2500 available, should i get that and a 970 instead?

Yes, I would get the i5 2500 with 960. It pairs much better with that gpu, and you will appreciate the 2 extra cores. You really need at least 4 these days for gaming.
