Hey, I've had this PC for a few years and I was considering building an entirely new one eventually. This PC currently runs most games I play well enough for me, however some games I'd like a little better performance. I was planning on using a 2070 for my future build and was curious if in the meantime I could use it on this PC to get some better performance until I want to build my new one with it. My only concern is if it will be bottlenecked by the I5 and just not be worth it.

If your going to get one either way then id say get it, try it out and see but i image that cpu would bottleneck it. You'll get a increase of performance from that gpu if its better than what you have now

the i5-6600K, having but 4 threads, often limits minimum FPS significantly in many modern titles during heavy CPU-limited action sequences, while still allowing quite respectable average FPS...

I'd be planning an R5-3600/B550 (coming soon!) based rig soon
