Will an i7 870 bottleneck a GTX Titan X (Maxwell)?

My current PC has a Core i7 870, 8 (4x2) GB RAM, 650W PSU.

I want to play the AAA games such as GTA V, Far Cry 5 etc on a 1080p Bravia TV in my semester break and now I've found a Titan X Maxwell for $350 in my country.

Question is, will my ancient CPU bottleneck with this very GPU? I know I can go for a cheaper option but you know Titan X is always tempting. And I don't plan on changing the whole setup soon as I'll probably get a new PC with the new 9th gen Core i7 processor when they come out.

There's a good chance it will yes.

Also, the minimum system requirements for Far Cry 5 specify an i5-2400. That CPU out performs an i7-870:

I'd say get the Titan X if it's a good deal for you... but you're going to want to upgrade the rest of your system as well.

you'll see that an old i5 still does well with a high end gpu.
