Will an intel core i5 processor work with a dell optiplex 755 and if not what is the best one available?

Im trying to upgrade my desktop but I dont know if an i5 processor is compatible with my dell optiplex 755.

i doubt it , the "755" probably stands for a similar intel LGA , so it wouldn't

if you mean inside the case, after everything is stripped out, yes but with poor cooling options. If you mean as a swap for your processor, then probably not. Need more info.

That is an LGA 775 Motherboard and will only support Intel Duo Core2 (or Vpro CPU's (Exxx Series)

As far as I know, those optiplex pcs use a propietary motherboard. Even the motherboard IO is situated in the right side from the PCI/PCI-E slots. I will assume that it is not upgradeable.
