Will an Intel i3 2100 bottleneck an AMD Radeon HD 6670 2GB DDR3? Or vice-versa?

The title pretty much explains it. Will my system encounter bottlenecks while playing games like battlefield 3, crysis 2, ghost recon future soldier, and TES V: Skyrim?

The processor and gpu are in the title (The CPU, MOBO, HDD, and RAM are a combo deal from Newegg for $265)

The GPU will be holding your system back. That CPU can handle a much faster GPU (7850 - GTX650 Boost) without issues.

Don't expect to play newer games on anything more than low/medium settings.

No. The 6670 is not going to be bottlenecked in the least by you i3-2100.

First, that 6670 is not a gaming video card. It is a good card for an HTPC or something for streaming/playing movies or light photo editing. Here is the framerate for last gen Battlefield Bad Company 2:

I'm guessing your monitor is 1080p (1920x1080 native resolution)? At 1080p (somewhere between 1680x1050 and 1900x1200 as shown in the review), you'll be getting under 30 frames per second on average. This means your minimum framerates will give you consistently choppy game play with any sort of video details turned up. Your going to run into the same issues with Skyrim, Crysis 2, and Ghost Recon as well.

The only way your going to get really quality smooth game play at 1080p (1920x1080) is by picking up a 6870 or better. Of the current gen AMD cards I'd recommend a 7850 at a minimum. Nvidia minimum would be a 650ti boost edition.

A couple of things i might not have mentioned:
1. My monitor is actually native 1280x1024, not 1080 or 720 (Perhaps it's 720 i honestly don't really care)
2. I plan to run games at 1024x768. I know it will look ugly but I'd rather get playable framerates from it.

I didn't mention it but the whole system i have is under $460 so i want to keep it that way.

Good to know about the resolution. You can see in the review running with no AA will get you framerates above 60 with Bad Company 2 as in the link I posted above. Battlefield 3 will give you a little lower performance. The CPU is not going to be a bottleneck anything and neither will the GPU. You're good to go at that resolution.

I decided to scrap the i3 and gpu because they add extra cost i don't really need. I went with an AMD A10 5800k 3.8GHz Quad Core APU, so I shaved off $60 by not buying a graphics card

Thanks for telling me though, I might build a computer with an i3 in the near future.
