Hi,

I have been wondering for a long time, and haven't been able to find the answer to my question.

Do nvidia graphics cards (for example the 8800gt) work on motherboards that aren't nForce boards (e.g. the intel x38 range)?????????

More specifically, will the 8800gt work on a asus P5W64 WS?

Please help me i have been trying to find this out for ages!!

Thanks, Ed

Ok, so i wouldnt be able to run two 8800gt's in SLI on a new x48 chipset/ current x38 motherboard?

Thanks for your help

The x38 and x48 support Crossfire, but nVidia will allow SLI on only nVidia chipsets. (There are reported to be hacks around this with some varying degrees of success, but most say it does not work very well)

You can put any stand alone PCIe GPU on any board with a PCIe express slot, the chipset does not matter.

Yup yup :bounce:
