Will an R9-290X do?

I'm planning on building a PC with an R9-290X. If I build it with an R9-290X, can I still make use of HairWorks by nVidia?

Hairworks it's an nvidia only feature, just like Physx. It's nvidia solution to AMD's TressFx.
