My 9800gtx+ has been performing very low in several games, especially new games like Battlefield Bad Company 2. I am currently running on an old Athlon X2 @ 2.7ghz. Im pretty sure my CPU is bottlenecking my 9800, so if i upgrade to a Phenom II X2 Black Edition would i really see a gain in FPS or is it something else? Maybe both are Bottlenecking? I don't know?

Thanks,
Alex

So for my current setup. Is the Phenom II X2 and 9800gtx+ both overclocked, a good improvement. And in the future should i look into 9800 sli or an improve in a graphics card. I know that the 9800 still has some potential.

battlefield bad company 2 is optimized for quad cores it takes up all of your 4 cores
this game is kinda laggy on dual cores

my all cores are at 30%-50%(usage) while playing this game and while gaming on dual core it is like 80%-90%

i tried this game on quad core with 8600gt it was smooth on medium settings since 8600gt isnt a powerful card anymore it was the processor which was helping

i say upgrading to a quad core will help alot maybe u will be able to max it out

Which quad core? Im on a $100 budget. The Phenom II X2 looks good because in the future when i get a new board i can unlock the cores to make it a quad core if the extra cores are not defected. The only quad core under $100 is the Phenom x4 which is an older cpu.

I forgot to tell you that i have an asus m-atx board that doesnt offer that much overclocking features. so a black edition with overdrive utility would be ideal for me at the moment.
