Will any dvd writer/burner work with the MSI X99S SLI Plus ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard

I would love to use my DVD writer/burner from my alienware x51 on this build -> http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/mq9KkL But I do not know if I can use it and if I can that would be great as I have everything else and a 1tb hhd from my alienware x51 aswell which I will be using

DVD burner are pretty standard. Should fit into the 5 1/4 bay in the case.

Newer burners use sata connectors. Which will work with all X99 mobo. If the burner is very old it will have ide connectors. They are very wide with quite a few parallel wires. Those will not work with with x99 mobo, but your burner sounds like a newer one.
