will any really low TDP cards be released?

After the resent upgrade to the next gen GPU tech, I'm wondering if a really low TDP card will be released.
I have a HTPC with a 150W pico PSU and have been waiting a few years now for a sub 100w GPU with okay performance.
I have been TV-gaming on my sub 35w CPU al this time, but would like to up the graphics just a bit or play more demanding games.
I'm hoping for a tiny 1050 card with low TDP and a low profile. Or the AMD equivalent.

Is there any hope of this?

assuming it can actually deliver 150w

how many hard drives/fans/peripherals do you run?

you probably cant even get away with a gtx 750...

best you are going to get is a gt 730 64 bit

The AMD RX 460 in it's no PCIE power cable variants requires 75W.
Also, the https://www.asus.com/Graphics-Cards/GTX950-2G/ does teh same.

That being said, 75W is really pushing it with that 150W. And they will not be making GPUs that pull less(75W is teh PCIE slot limit). Your 150W scenario will be reserve for teh integrated graphics path for teh foreseeable future.

I only run one SSD and a blu-ray drive. Which I will probably disconnect because of Win10 lackluster support of blu-ray.
And a bluetooth dongle for xbox controllers.
The cabinet and CPU is passively cooled.

Ah ok. Is 75W minimum power draw from a GPU in the PCI slot? (EDIT: no is the answer to this question.)
I recall reading on some forum about a HTPC with a 150W Pico PSU and an AMD low TDP GPU installed. It was just about doable if the games did not require max load on the GPU.
But today I can't find any low profile and low TDP GPU's for sale in my region.

I just assumed the new pascal architecture would give us really low TDP GPU's for the HTPC market.
Looks like I have to upgrade the motherboard and CPU instead to give better onboard graphics.

Thanks. This looks promising. I will see if I can find a RX460 low profile version. I will not be playing witcher 3 or GTA5. Just casual games and MP COOP games on my 1920x1080 TV.
But Ori and the blind forrest was a little bit to demanding so I need an upgrade.

EDIT: RX460 draws more power than 750ti. I will perhaps have to wait and see what 1050 can deliver.
