Will any Xeon E3 LGA1155 processor work on ASUS P8H67-M PRO motherboard

Hi everyone
I want a 4 core/8 thread processor for my ASUS P8H67-M PRO motherboard and I'm considering getting a Xeon since it's cheaper than an i7. According to official specifications this motherboard supports E3 1230, E3 1230 v2 and E3 1245 v2. Will it also support E3 1240 and E3 1245 even though they are not explicitly listed?

In all likelihood, the answer is yes (they should work as others in the same family do).

Ok, I've made the gamble and got myself an E3-1240. I'll get it in the next few weeks. The specs are quite similar to those of the E3 1230 V2 that appears in the QVL.

So I got the Xeon E3-1240 a few days ago and it's working well once operating system is up and running. But I am having issues that I feel are unrelated to the processor. I get freezes during Bios and POST. I need to press the power and/or reset button multiple times to get it working. Best to start another thread for this.

Before you installed the Xeon, did you inspect the socket for bent pins? Also, are you running the most up to date BIOS with your motherboard?

Yes I am running the most up to date bios (it's 3904). And there was a slightly bent pin which I straightened before I installed it. I've had this motherboard since 2012. Hasn't been in constant use. It was kept away for about a year at one point. I would be very surprised if the processor is the problem since it looks as good as new (despite being used).

Is your Xeon a V1 or V2 variant?

It's v1 variant. I will try getting a cheap officially supported lga 1155 pentium or celeron processor in next few days to confirm whether the motherboard has a problem.
