Will ASUS Sonic Radar III require a 7.1 headset or Stereo headset in order for the software to work?

I currently have a Sennheiser Game Zero headset, but when using sonic radar 3 ingame it doesn't seem accurate when trying to locate foosteps. So my question is do I need a 7.1 headset in order to fully utilize Sonic Radar 3 to be able to locate all sounds as opposed to my normal stereo headset that I have currently. I'm thinking about buying the Logitech G633 as it is a 7.1 headset. Please let me know. Thank you.

That sonic radar is crap.
Its using 3D in game and resulting where it "Kinda should be".
In short, useless marketing trick.
Only the Realtek HD Audio manager is honey into it and sound chipset.

Well I would just like to try it based off a friends suggestion. In theory, could I plug in my game zero into a soundcard that is installed into the motherboard and then turn on Sonic Radar 3? Or must I directly plug in my headset to the motherboards audio panel connector and then turn on sonic radar 3? I'm asking because I already have a soundcard (AE-5) that is installed into my motherboard. So I'm not sure where I plug in my headset.

Hmm.... Weird...
If its from motherboards provider, stick it into motherboard.
I think it should work with sound card regardless since as i said its processing from game where the sound is coming from.
