Will Asus Strix GTX 1070 OC work with a 500W PSU

Im looking to buy a GTX 1070 but i dont know if my psu will handle it
i have i5 6400 @ 2,7 ghz (3,3 turbo clock)
8 GB DDR4
currently a 960 2GB
500W PSU, dont know the exact model

You should get something around 550W-650W. With such a fantastic card, you shouldn't lack quality in all the other components.
It's always suggested to get a good (but not overpowerful) PSU for gaming (at least 80+ bronze).
I strongly suggest the EVGA 650 W G2 GOLD 80+ Modular but if you want to have it a tat cheaper I'd go for the Corsair CX600. We recently just upgraded to a MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 6GB which we use the EVGA PSU for and the Corsair CX600 for our MSI GTX 970 4GB.
