Please help, I have been measuring and calculating stuff for hours, but It's not my strong suite and I dont want to mess this up, since I have already paid the deposit in full and I am on the waiting list.
I have this case specifically https://web.archive.org/web/2014032...lermaster-usa.com/product.php?product_id=2706
I know it says 12.4" max but where the diagram is measuring is where the second PCIex16 slot is and based on my motherboard (Asus tuf Z490 Gaming plus wifi) I think the second PCIex16 slot is a x4 and not a x16. (I think?) so It would have to be in the first slot. I don't know how to calculate the difference. I think my case is very similar or equivalent to the Coolermaster CM690, mine is the Nvidia edition but they appear to be the same.
Has anyone had any luck fitting a card into one of these cases? Or can help me with the math please.
the tuf 3080 is listed as 11.81" aka 299.97mm

Sorry will edit my answer, after looking at it again, there's a good chance card won't fit if it has to be in the first slot on the motherboard. If I were you though, I would still try to check if it fits, and if not, it is better that you start looking into buying another case.

Is this the case you have? Cooler Master CM 690 II Nvidia Edition
It has 304mm GPU clearance and the 3080 you mentioned is about 300mm.
You might just make it in there.

Im 99% certain it will fit. I checked dims against founders edition 3080 for the link you provided.

Btw: it belongs in the first full x16 (longest) slot nearest the top for best performance (usually)

When a card says its 2 or 3 slots, it means if you put the card in, the card will cover 2 or 3 of the back panels total. The one it plus into plus another 1 or 2. If you have the number of appropriate back plane slots you are good.

Well there is also a XC3 Ultra that is 285 MM but the reviews i have been reading on that card isn't as ideal as one would hope, it underperforms compared to the other AIB cards

So the concern I have is that based on the link I provided it says the max gpu length is 12.4 inches, but where the diagram is measuring is aligned with the second PCI16 slot, then if you look where the primary PCI16 slot is above it - it's not flush with the dimensions of the 12.4, the wrack is slightly bigger then the hard drive wrack

Hello, If someone can please help me. I'm trying to figure out the Max GPU size for this case, using the top PCIe slot, not the bottom.
This case is so old, but its so good, I dont want to replace it but its very hard to find any information on it, but I'll share what I found so far.
Note: I believe this case shares the same build as the standard Cooler Master CM690 (V1).

Here are some links to reference:

The card I am hoping to fit inside is the Tuf 3080 which measures at 299.9mm (11.81")

Thank you for your time, and help.

Thanks for the reply! I will try to get an Asus ROG/TUF 30 series in the future. Maybe an ROG 3060 Ti. Depends on the budget and depends on stock of the shops.
I think most of the 3-fan cards are the same size, but I will check before I buy.

Update:
Just checked, the ROG one is 318,5mm and the TUF is 299mm.
I don't think there is an extra 20mm there right?
