Will buying a new graphics card boost game performance?

Hello, I am wondering if purchasing a new graphics card boost my game performance. Currently on some games I have to turn down the settings to minimal go get a steady 60 fps. Most games I can play mid to high, but I play games like Guild Wars 2, Rift, and DayZ. If it does help I have around a $300-$400 budget. My graphics card is where I skimped when I built my computer, now I'm suffering the consequences.

Current Specs:
CPU: AMD FX 8120
Memory: 16gb DDR3 RAM
Graphics Card: Nvidia GT 630

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Yes, it will. The CPU may bottleneck in some games, but it shouldn't be an issue. What is the budget?
