Will Celeron G3900 work with OC memory on a Z270 motherboard?

I would like to use Celeron G3900 with a Z270 motherboard. The motherboard says it supports "DDR4-4133+(OC) Memory", but the CPU says it only supports DDR4-1866/2133.

Will OC memory be able to work on OC speeds or not? If not, then what is the cheapest Intel 6th Gen CPU I can use? Am I limited to "K" models to utilize the OC RAM speeds?

1. It's beyond the point. My answer won't help you answer my question.
2. I'm not ready to buy a high end CPU yet. When I will, I may still want to have a spare CPU that works safely with my motherboard, because:
a) I may eventually buy a future CPU that will work on this motherboard, but only after updating the BIOS
b) The high-end 7th+ gen CPU is not supported by my operating system of choice so I may need to install it with an older CPU, then switch to a later, newer one. I'm using Windows 7. Yes, this is retrocomputing. Please don't ask.

The 200 chipset doesn't have drivers for windows 7 (most of the time) and will have issues running it. The speed of memory doesn't relly matter that much with intel so you aren't really loosing any performance when it's slowed down. If you do want full speed a pentium g4560 is the way to go.

Anyway, the manufacturer's page for Z270I GAMING PRO CARBON AC does contain drivers for Windows 7. Also, if the experience of running Windows 7 will turn out to be unsatisfactory, the option to turn to Windows 10 is always there.

If you do want full speed a pentium g4560 is the way to go.

Odd I checked in my bios and it's running at full speed 2666mhz over here. You are lucky to have one of the boards that still has drivers for win 7.
