Will connecting a PlayStation 2 to a projector make the graphics the same as they did on a tube tv?

I'm sorry if this question is in the wrong section.

Before I explain my situation. This is the list of things I tried.

I tried to connect my ps2 to a hd tv and the graphics look so crummy and low resolution, since the ps2 is 480 only works with a tube tv and using a ps2 on a hd 1080 p or 720 p tv makes it look so horrible you can't upscale 480p to 1080p will look low graphics.

I already tried buying a hdmi converter to av cable same problem.
Tried the green and blue component aka ps2 ypbpr cable same problem.
tried using a tube tv and the graphics were amazing and clear but the problem is tube tv take so much space.

My last hope is to use a projector some projectors have a 480p quality or maybe buy a small tv round 20 to 29" ratio that supports 480 p if it doens;t work.

Will using a projector have the same low resolution graphics as using a hd 1080 p led tv?

Cause I've seen the projectors most of them are 1080p quality

Solution

From what I recall before, I experienced this type of issue before although those were back in the days that projectors weren't that advanced yet. What I know right now is that the projector only projects certain resolutions depending on the system that connects to it such as a PC or PS2 or any console. In your case, you should get a TV that can scale from 480p or below up to 1080p or above or a projector of same specs so you would notice the some difference in graphics quality.
