Question Will contact paste work as an alternative for thermal paste for my CPU?

In theory it would probably work, but in use what is the viscosity ? If it is a thick paste you will probably not get good even coverage of the cpu and cooling block. Computer thermal paste is use specific. That meaning it is made specifically for use between a cpu and cooling block for maximum cooling, and known results. Using the unknown, untested, non item use specific paste is not a good idea.

I really would not use that.
