Question Will Core i5-9600K fit to z170 gaming k4?

Second question, is it worth to change from i5 6600K (@4.2)?

fit yes. work no.
same socket but the motherboard will not work with it.
not worth it without a motherboard change.

the highest you could upgrade to is a 7th generation. ala 7700k

8th/9th gen won't work. Same socket yes but there are inactive pins in your motherboard's socket that are active on 300 series boards necessary for these processors to work.

Best you can do is 7700k with bios update or overhaul system.
