Hi there,
I have a Corsair CS550M PSU which has been running great on my current system. I want to add an additional matching graphics card for better performance in FCPX. Therefore system will be
2 x Sapphire AMD Radeon R9 270X DUAL-X OC (2048 MB)
1 x Gigabyte Z87MX-D3H
1 x Intel Core i7 4770K
1 x SSD
1 x 3.5 HDD
4 x 8gb RAM
The PSU is 550W has two spare 6PIN outputs (8 Pin already occupied on current GPU) and the GPU's require 2 x 6 Pin.
Three questions:
1. Can I connect these directly or do they not carry enough current?
2. If no to Q1 can I use an 8 pin splitter from my current 8 pin to power both GPUs?
3. Is my PSU simply not powerful enough?
Thanks for your help.
Alex
