Hai guys I was hoping to buy a new corsair vengeance 8gb ddr3 1600mhz ram but I have a doubt that whether it supports my system. It's a asus motherboard and Intel dual core processor and near the ram slot it says ddr3 1333. I don't know what it means and I don't want to waste my money by purchasing something useless so any one can help me by say whether it's suitable for my system

Solution
Need mobo and CPU, if an older 775 socket it will need DRAM with low density ICs like the GSkill NT series of value DRAM, newer model mobos 1155 and newer can use the predominant high density ICs
Motherboard make and model?

CPU make and model?

The 1333 MHz suggests that the system will run up to 1333 MHz memory without overclocking. Memory rated higher than 1333 MHz (such as at 1600 MHz) will be (or should be) downclocked automatically to 1333 MHz to match the system default supported speed. If wanting to run the memory at 1600 MHz (or higher frequency), then the memory and/or system will have to be overclocked.
