Will DDR266 work with socket 754?

Hi!
I'm getting a new socket 754 mobo to replace one that just died, probably an Asus K8N-E Deluxe, and am hoping to reuse my 512MB DDR266 RAM from before to save on cost.

Is this possible? I realize I'll lose performance, but I wasn't really planning to upgrade for another year or so.

Would be great to know for sure, thanks!
