Will direct 9x driver benefits my Geforce3?

Just wondering, thats all...cos I currently have direct x8.1 driver.

Most new games ask for it, without even using DX9 graphics functions. It's more of a "Keep yourself updated" reason, but has very little to do with any actual graphical advancement or performance. However many say that getting DX9 is for other reasons than just the DX9 technology, like DirectSound and such. All of these form the DirectX package, and sometimes you might need them for new games to have the right sound etc.

In general though, it's a pointless way to tell the game "Ok I have DX9, can I play now?" without any real reason behind it.

Do get it though. If you ever upgrade to a DX9 card, you won't need to reinstall it!
