So i have bought this new Gtx 1050ti that comes with only DP, hdmi and DVI-D outputs. I have a vga monitor.

Will this DP to vga adapter work?

https://www.amazon.in/gp/aw/d/B00ECWHNNE/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3LCEOM7AZKN5J

The reviews says that it does. But i would like to know more about this thing. I've seen many dvi-i to vga adapters but haven't found any dvi-d to vga adapters that work.

Anyway it would be enough if the dp to vga works.

Thanks in advance :) :)

DVI to VGA doesn't work as the 10 series cards do not have support for VGA on the DVI. Future cards are expected to be the same. VGA is been phased out.

has to be a active adaptor display port hdmi and dvi-''D'' are digital signal only

example [ Converts a graphics card's Display Port output to a VGA output for use with a VGA monitor ]

https://www.amazon.com/HP-AS615AA-Displayport-VGA-Adapter/dp/B0025ZUF8K

also available in a dvi-d to vga and hdmi to vga , but must be ''ACTIVE''

you could of found a 900 series card that would of worked natively from there DVI-'' I '' port with the free passive adaptor that most times comes in the box with the card

more example for any 10 series

[page 4]
''Display connectivity options include a DVI port, an HDMI port, and a DisplayPort. Unlike previous NVIDIA cards, the DVI port no longer includes an analog signal, so you'll have to use an active adapter. ''

[page 32 ---thumbs down]

•DVI output no longer includes analog VGA signals

then like said hdmi and display port are all digital as well

so instead of buying a card that fully supports you ,and your needs. your stuck supporting the card and its needs at your cost and risk

so it buy a adaptor and hope it works to your satisfaction or buy a new monitor ??
