Great! When picking the gpu I was deciding between 960 and what I chose. Could you explain to me what you know about people having driver problems with the amd cards? I like feeling prepared so any help/information is appreciated.

I don't think you will have driver problems, the majority of people do not and driver problems are all software-related not hardware-related (though they correspond with the hardware). You should be fine, millions of people use AMD cards. The 960 has worse performance/price, its main benefits over the 280x are its lower power and heat usage.
