Will graphics card run in 8x because of pci-e internet card?

My FX-8370 only have 16 lanes.
If i have a graphics card using 16 lanes and i put in a internet card which use maybe 1x lanes. Does the graphics card limit to 8x in its pci-e?

Yes, it will run in x8 BUT that is not a problem. x8 and x16 run GPUs the same, plenty of benchmarks which prove that (at best it's a 1-2% performance loss).

Well you can call them 7 lanes, but actually if you do that then your lanes will be x8x4x4, meaning your GPU will run in x8 your internet card will run in x1 (but still take x4 because thats the way it works) and you will have x4 available for something else. Even if you go SLI, you still won't notice performance drops.

So if i buy like for an example another R9 290X and that turns out to run in x4 it wont scale worse in that speed than it would in x8?
