Situation: AMD K6-2 300Mhz with 64MB PC100 RAM. Monster 3D II card. I'm going to do a system upgrade in 3-4 months, but I want to upgrade the video card NOW. I'm thinking an Elsa Gladiac GeForce 2 GTS 32MB, even though my current system probably can't take advantage of it, because I want it to last me a while. However, for curiosity sake, how much performance can I expect to get out of this thing on my current system? Is 20-30fps possible, or will my CPU just slow this thing down way too much?

You know what, I just did something similar. I have a K6-3 400 and got an Asus GF2 GTS. It is definately awesome although I am probbaly not taking full advantage of it. I am not disappointed with my choice, eventhough your processor is slower than mine. I say go for it if you want to spend some cash. Your alternative is sticking with what you got until you upgrade. Up to you really. My video is awesome except when my harddrive or CPU cause a stutter, which doesn't happen too much.
