Probably not, I believe it can handle a GTX 970 fine. The only way is to put the game you're playing on highest settings and check! Good luck.

a 1070 is about ~40% faster than a 970

Agree, at 1080p yes but at 1440p probably only a little in cpu heavy games

At 1080p the 1070 can run over 100 fps in most games but your cpu will bottleneck, at 1440p your going to be getting lower fps which reduces the cpu load. Resolution doesnt change cpu load but fps does directly impact cpu load.

Completly understand , but will it affect durability of Cpu? I mean will it last for years or it will get damaged ?
Or should i build pc from scratch , and is it smart to start from motherboeard and cpu , and till next year to buy gpu?
