Will gtx 670 4gb will be sufficient to run 4K monitor?

Hi!
I have a gigabyte gtx 670 oc 4gb graphics card and plan getting 4K LG 43UD79-B monitor. Mostly I will use it for work, but also plan some casual gaming time to time so the question is how good it will handle casual games like Civilization IV, Starcraft II, Lineage II, War Thunder, will it be sufficient or should I look for newer graphics card?

In case other hardware used in build:
ASRock Z370 Extreme4
Intel Core i5 8600k
SSD Samsung 960 EVO NVMe M.2 250GB
CORSAIR 8GB RAMKit 2x4GB DDR4 3600

It will do just fine and will also be able handle gaming but not gpu intensive ones !

A GTX 670 is not suitable, performance wise, for gaming at 4k. You might get a few games to run if you turn down all of the details, but don't expect playable results.

Should work fine for regular desktop use.

If you're planning to connect the display using HDMI, you will only be able to achieve 30 Hz at 4k. 60 Hz requires HDMI 2 which that card doesn't support. Displayport or dual DVI-D should be able to provide 60 Hz.

It will run the display but you might have to crank the resolution down for games.

So basically I'll be able to run everything like before if I turn down the resolution to Full HD in games, but at the same time should start looking for some new AMD graphics card.

As of right now, no single graphics card is capable of maxing out games in 4k. They just aren't there yet.

If you don't change your settings for games, running them on your 4k with the same resolution and detail settings, they will give you the same results.

The only appreciable difference at that point will be a slight bit of blurring, as even if you can get a proper multiple of the resolution so that pixels aren't being stretched disproportionately, you don't necessarily have the same dot pitch and you end up with extra gaps inside each pixel, compared to running on a panel the same size using the resolution natively.

It's doubtful you would notice any blurring when gaming, but doing desktop work it will show in static text pretty readily.

you dont need to if your only aim is too run causal games like dota or civilisatin but if you are so much concerned about the graphics and why didn't battlefield 1 ran at 60 frames in your 4k monitor u might need to break your piggy bank and get something like a 1080ti or vega 56 !

Yeah I figured that for month or two I'll stick with my old GTX670 and then I'll probably switch to Vega 56 because monitor has freesync and it will be nice to utilize it.

That's a Guud choice and plus untill the time come when you will think of upgrading your GPU the GPU lines be more advanced than now and who knows they will be able to deliver more power with affordability !
