hi guys my rig is intel dual core e5700 3.00, intel dg41wv mobo, 4gb ddr3 ram, gt 630 2gb 128 bit ddr3 gpu, 420W PSU which has 15 amps on +12v rail. So my question is will gtx 750 work properly and without any bottleneck on my rig, will it be worth to upgrade from gt 630 to gtx 750?please answer ASAP thanks

i like what king saif suggested above as a solid upgrade on the cheap. if this is not in the cards today, i would suggest just a psu and gpu upgrade for now. can save a few dollars and get a better gpu and later add a new cpu/mobo to complete the transformation. something like this, is what i am thinking.

this is enough...
If its a 450 watt PSU then it should have at least 30 amp i think the psu have multiple +12 V rails with 15 amp on V1 and 15 amp on V2 which makes 30 Amps or 360 watt in total in theory it should be 450/12 = 37 amp but It will usually be a bit less than the sum of the individual rails(15a +15a) and depending on the quality of the PSU.

The TDP of GTX 750(55 watt) is actually less than Gt 630 (65 watt) so if you have run the Gt 630 with your current PSU you should not have any problem running the GTX 750 with the same PSU.

i would agree with prit87, it it worked with a higher watt gpu, then it will work with a lower wattage gpu. that's just simple logic.

the only thing i would add is that a QUALITY 420 w psu will have 30+ 12v amps. a junk one could actually have 15 or less amps. my 375w dell psu has 2x 18 amp 12v rails but i have seen others with less than 18.

hey guys what about i upgrade my rig and buy an intel g3240 and a gtx 750 ti but with the same PSU so will this new rig work fine with the same PSU? i think this new rig should work better with this PSU than my current rig because it will consume less Watts=54W g3240+60W gtx 750 ti=114W total than my current rig=65W e5700+65W gt 630=total 130W thanks for replies

The power consumption difference is very minimal between the two CPU and the G3240 will not be a good upgrade from e5700 plus if you upgrade to G3240 then you have to change your motherboard too the processors are of different sockets.

If you can then sell your old system and get a new one with at least i3 4th gen with 2x4 gb ram and a good quality 500 + watt PSU.

This is the cheapest possible upgrade and the PSU provided with it is of good quality, and will definitely be enough for a 750 Ti. If you wanna double check yourself, head to http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page362.htm and see.

You should also consider getting a 270 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121823&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=) instead since it also only needs 450w so u could keep the same VP450W I suggested above. The 270 is far better and is definitely worth the extra dollars. Here is the difference u can expect to recieve with the 750 ti or 270:

Scroll down to see the FPS u can expect to get 750 Ti is red, 270 is blue. :)

this is enough power to run just about anything plus a very strong gpu for not much more than the 750ti. you will be set for pretty much any system upgrade you want in the future.
